Blanchards Anguilla Children’s Fund

Even after a hurricane, the tourist industry is protected partially by insurance, helping with jobs as the island rebuilds. There is no insurance to cover COVID-19 and we are 100% dependent on the airlines and hotels to bring people back to the island.

We’ve transformed Blanchards Restaurant into a food bank providing groceries for the island’s most vulnerable. We also have a mobile fleet distributing food to the more remote parts of the island and to people without transportation.

As of September 14, 2020 here’s what’s happening in Anguilla:

  • The island is currently 100% COVID-Free.
  • Air and seaports are closed.
  • Tourism is non-existent.
  • Majority of workforce is unemployed.
  • The island will not open until at least November 1, 2020.

Founded in 2006, Blanchards Anguilla Children’s Fund (BACF) is dedicated to enriching the quality of life for the children in Anguilla. In times of emergency, like hurricanes and the current COVID-19 pandemic, we use the fund to buy food, water and necessary supplies for the people of Anguilla.

BACF is a not-for-profit Anguilla company as well as a U.S. non-profit 501(c)3 organization. All contributions are tax deductible and donors will be provided with an acknowledgement letter for tax purposes. If you have any questions or prefer to pay by check or wire transfer, please feel free to send us an email: bobmel@blanchardsrestaurant.com

Stay safe and healthy!

We are deeply touched by the generosity of so many people! In order to keep the food bank open, however, we still need more help. The island will be struggling for many months to come.
